The shift to consensus democracy and limits of institutional design in Asia presents the following source proposition: We show that these reforms have, as intended, mostly increased female and ethnic minority representation and decentralized governance structures. This proposition is pertinent to Kaal's source-bound claim that Ex ante remedies for the downsides of representative democracy were not technologically possible when democratic representation was designed, so its downsides such as corruption, bribery, and bias had to be tolerated as inevitable tradeoffs. The proposed response is an agreement: the relationship should remain limited to the retrieved source proposition and the mapped Kaal claim unless fuller source review supports a broader conclusion.
